Founder and director of LawInSport, Sean has written articles on the regulation of boxing, anti-doping, sports governance. He has also interviewed prominent figures within the sports and legal profession.

Sean studied sport science and law after working in the legal sector for 15 years. He passionately believes that providing easy to access high quality sports law content will help the sports community to combat the increasingly commercial and complex environment in which all levels of sport operate. He is also interested in developing new and innovative methods of distributing legal content without sacrificing the quality of the information.

Kevin is Editor for LawInSport and a lawyer advising on commercial, intellectual property, dispute resolution and anti-corruption matters. He has been published in various academic journals, including being quoted in a report for the European Commission, and presented internationally on integrity, match-fixing and sports betting regulation. He has also been interviewed by Primetime News Asia in Singapore and recommended by INTERPOL’s Integrity in Sport unit. He has his own regular sports law blog which looks at a variety of sports law issues. Finally he is a qualified Football Association referee for 11-a-side, at the semi-professional level, and futsal, on the national list, as well as being an FA referee tutor. Alfonso Valero is co-founder and now consultant of LawInSport.com. He is a dually qualified Abogado (Spanish Lawyer) and Solicitor (England and Wales). He is also a qualified International Arbitrator. He is a Senior Lecturer in Nottingham Trent University.

After beginning his career dealing with dispute resolution in Madrid, he relocated to England developing his work as lawyer in the areas of EU cross-border litigation and Sports Law in Nockolds Solicitors. Adam (LLB Law, University of Birmingham) joined LawInSport in July 2012, becoming Editorial Assistant in September 2012. His focus is on careers and breaking into sports law. He has published articles on the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the Student Journal of Law.

Adam is a recent graduate and a future trainee in the London office of CMS Cameron McKenna. A member of BASL, Adam worked at the BASL Conference in 2012. Alex is a Senior Associate at Dentons specialising in the sports, technology and media sectors.

Alex's first involvement in sports related work was as part of the legal team which helped the FA Premier League defend its collective media rights selling arrangements before the UK and EU competition authorities and ultimately negotiated a landmark settlement with the EU Commission in order to end its long running investigations of FAPL. He has since acted for a number of other rights holders including the England and Wales Cricket Board, Scottish Premier League, the Football League and leading English and Scottish football clubs on issues related to the exploitation of their media rights. Alex represented the Football League in its intervention before the Competition Appeal Tribunal concerning the successful appeal by Sky and FAPL of Ofcom's decision to impose "must wholesale" obligations on Sky Sports.

Alex is a barrister at Peters & Peters Solicitors, specialising in business crime, extradition, corruption and sports law. He is part of the P&P Sports Disputes and Investigations team. Prior to joining P&P, Alex was a tenant at the leading criminal set Five Paper Buildings. He has extensive experience of sports law in the context of criminal litigation, having prosecuted cases involving the illicit broadcasting of premier league football for many years.

Alex spends his winters occasionally playing rugby for the Law Society 2nd XV, and runs a casual cricket team called the Bumblers in the summer.

Dr. Ben Van Rompuy is a senior researcher and consultant at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, Asser International Sports Law Center (The Hague) and senior associate researcher at iMinds-SMIT (Studies on Media, Information and Telecommunication), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels). He holds a doctoral degree in law and masters’ degrees in international and European law and in communication studies.
