Steven Tregear

Head of the litigation department, Steven specialises in litigation and reputation management in the worlds of sports, entertainment and media covering a varied caseload for major record and music publishing companies, artists, managers, sports and music promoters, sportsmen and women as well as many others.

He handles a large number of claims and disputes concerning contractual and copyright-related matters (both in the High Court and before sports arbitration panels), and regularly works in the fields of defamation and privacy representing Russells’ high-profile sports client list.  Particularly well known in the boxing world where he represents one of the UK’s leading promoters, Frank Warren, his client list also includes Ricky Hatton, Derek Chisora and world boxing champion, Chantelle Cameron together with overseas boxers who take part in UK contests.  He handles cases before the British Boxing Board of Control and other sports resolution groups/tribunals.

Steven’s work for the group of nine Premier League football clubs making an intervention to CAS (the Court of Arbitration for Sport) in connection with Manchester City’s ban from the Champions League, catapults him into the top flight of sports lawyers in the UK.
