Dr. Joseph Fesenmair is  a partner specialising in IP, media and sports law in our Munich office, where he acts as co-head of our international Media, Entertainment and Sport Sector Group. He bring deep experience in trade mark, design, copyright and unfair competition law and am widely known for my expertise in sports and sponsorship.  

His practice covers the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters in trade mark, design rights, media and sports law. His extensive forensic work includes national and multi-jurisdictional IP litigation cases, including cases concerning infringement of community trade marks and community design rights.  

 

Offering strategic advice to prestigious German and international businesses, his work often involves the development and optimisation of registration and protection strategies for national and multinational trade mark portfolios. He also advises across the board on sports and media law including sponsorship and contracts, representing both sponsors and the recipients of sponsorships. 

 

He is a member of the German Intellectual Property Rights Association, the International Trade Mark Association and the German Association for Sports Law. He has been appointed as an arbitrator at the German Court of Arbitration for Sports.
