Thierry Aballéa

Thierry Aballéa has been advising events’ organizers, athletes, sports institutions, companies, from start-ups to international corporations, either French or international, over the past 25 years in connection with their strategy, investments, sponsors, event organising issues including litigation in front of the courts.

Now a partner at Ewen Law, he began his career at Warner Cranston, a London City Firm, became Legal Director of the Telecom Operator Belgacom and then joined the US firm Coudert Brothers as an international and cross-border transactions Attorney before setting up an international law firm dedicated to Sport, M&A and Litigation.

Thierry is honorary President of AIJA (International Association of Young Attorneys) and was part of the elite French sailing team (Windsurfing European and French champion 1988) before studying Law. He regularly publishes articles in legal publications and newspapers. He is often invited to speak at international seminars or domestic events that relate to his practice.

He holds a Law Degree from the University of Paris X (International Business Law) and is currently a member of the Paris Bar Council in charge of international matters. He was a lecturer at SupTelecom Bretagne (now IMT Atlantique) for 10 years and was a visiting professor for the Comparative Corporate and Securities Law Course for the Golden Gate University – (San Francisco) summer programme in Paris for 5 years. He is a lecturer at ISDE (Madrid) and currently co-chairs the ACE M&A commission in France.

Thierry has lived in Mauritania, Gabon and the United Kingdom and speaks French and English fluently as well as elementary Spanish.
