Ron Segev

Ron is a specialized gaming and betting lawyer, experienced assisting online and land based casinos and sport books, and developers, studios, platforms and operators offering social games, skill games, sports betting, fantasy sports, esports, v-sports, live-dealer, and other gaming and betting products. Ron has assisted clients worldwide with their corporate finance and M&A, commercial, IP, transactional, licensing, regulatory and compliance needs. Ron has extensive experience in the gaming and betting sector and has appeared as an expert speaker on the topic for various media outlets and at various high-profile events, and conferences. Ron is also a member of International Association of Gaming Advisors, a General Member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, and is ranked by Chambers & Partners as a Band-1 lawyer in Canada, Chambers’ highest ranking.  

Ron is also a member of Segev LLP’s busy Securities Practice Group and has experience guiding clients through the complexities of private/public finance. Beyond gaming and betting, Ron has considerable experience assisting clients in highly regulated industries (blockchain, cannabis, for example) with their financing needs.  

More broadly, Ron has years of experience working with a wide variety of technology clients including data analytics companies, digital media and creative agencies, online marketers and affiliates, e-commerce companies, software, SaaS, enterprise software (CRM, ERP, etc.) and app. 

Along with Segev LLP’s Blockchain Practice Group, Ron has experience working with some of the top distributed ledger technology companies in Canada, and worldwide. He has assisted blockchain application development companies, miners, brokers, exchanges, token projects, DeFi, GameFi, Web3, NFT and other multiverse related projects.  

Ron can assist in establishing key relationships and partnerships, negotiating joint ventures, navigating mergers & acquisitions, and addressing corporate development needs.
