  • An injury report; the talks and count of controls that were carried out during the tournament that was held in Venezuela.

 

The CONMEBOL Medical Commission and Anti-Doping Unit presents its Medical and Anti-Doping Report for CONMEBOL Libertadores Futsal 2023, held in the city of Caracas – Venezuela from May 21 to 28, 2023, where the 12 clubs of the Member Associations of the CONMEBOL.

The report presents the injuries suffered by athletes, temperature monitoring, educational talks given to all participating teams and anti-doping controls.

Regarding the blows suffered by the footballers, the Medical Commission has registered 12 injuries in the 32 games played.

In addition, it is important to highlight that the temperature has been monitored before and after the matches in order to protect the integrity of the athletes.

For its part, the Anti-Doping Unit confirmed the participation of 250 members of the teams in the Anti-Doping Educational Talks, between players and the coaching staff of the ten teams participating in the tournament.

130 urine samples were collected throughout the competition, 44% of these were directed and 56% by lottery. In addition, all the matches played were controlled during the tournament.

The medical team was made up of Dr. Javier Peralta as medical coordinator, Dr. Andrés Serrano and Dr. Boris Zambrano as medical officers, and Alivia Velázquez as operational coordinator.
