Entry for students to win £1500 prize extended - 5th Sports Law Arbitration Moot
With the festive period upon us, it can be a busy time of year for professionals, academics and students alike. Taking this into account, as well as feedback from some of the teams that have entered the 5th Edition of the Sports Law Arbitration Moot (SLAM), and our distinguished judges, we are pleased to announce that we have taken the decision to extend the registration period to 21 January 2024. This not only provides more opportunity for new teams to enter the competition but also gives the students participants more time to prepare and hone their skills before the competition begins.
For those not familiar with SLAM, students enter a two person team into the competition. Each team then makes a written submission before competing in oral advocacy rounds in front of some of the world’s leading sports lawyers and arbitrators from the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The finals take place in the beautiful city of Lausanne, Switzerland at the Court of Arbitration for Sport giving students a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain experience in real-life settings where many of their biggest sports disputes in the world have been heard. Teams also get the opportunity to attend a Sports Law Seminar with guests from across the sports world to learn about important legal developments facing the sports industry.
Students will be battling it out to have the opportunity to win £1,500 prize for the winners and £1,000 for runners up, tickets to LawInSport’s Global Summit 2024, LawInSport Plus membership for 1 year and the opportunity to be selected onto the LawInSport Mentoring Scheme.
Last year over 50 teams entered the competition from 20+ countries and was supported by 80+ judges from around the world, who volunteered their time to provide this amazing experience for students.
