AESF And APSF Partner To Advance Para Esports Development
The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and the Asean Para Sports Federation (APSF) are pleased to announce their partnership to advance and promote Esports among para athletes in Southeast Asia.
The collaboration will include the APSF joining AESF's Task Force of 'Esports for All' Program, as well as jointly studying and identifying classification types for para athletes in Esports.
Other key collaboration areas include providing more competitive opportunities for para athletes. Additionally, AESF will extend its assistance to APSF and its affiliated National Paralympic Committees in connecting with National Federations for preparations to the 2025 ASEAN Para Games.
Major General Osoth Bhavali, President of APSF and Secretary of the APSF Board of Governors, who was also present at the signing ceremony, commented “At APSF, our mission is to organize the ASEAN Para Games with the host country in the ASEAN region. With the increasing popularity of Esports among the younger generation, we see it as an opportunity to further our mission. Today's signing of the MOU with AESF is an important step towards collaborating and advancing the promotion, development, and protection of Esports in Para sports competition. Our goal is to establish the best Para Esports standard technical handbook that will benefit our Paralympic community. We are excited to work closely with AESF.”
Commenting on the partnership, AESF Director General, Sebastian Lau, stated “The AESF is excited to announce our partnership with the APSF. We share the same vision of advancing, promoting, and protecting Esports while also ensuring equality and inclusion within the industry. Together, we will work to create a more inclusive and diverse Esports ecosystem that promotes opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities.”
