Sport Resolutions UK, the independent dispute resolution service for sport, today announced the appointment of Charles Flint QC as the new President of the National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP).

As the judicial head of the NADP, the President is responsible for appointing members to UK anti-doping tribunals, for adjudicating on applications concerning provisional suspensions and for scrutinising the quality and consistency of tribunal decision-making.

Charles Flint said:

"I am delighted to have been appointed President of the NADP. I look forward to working with all members of the panel to ensure that athletes who wish to challenge doping decisions have access to an independent body which provides fair and well reasoned decisions within a short timescale."

He continued:

"The 2015 World Anti-Doping Code, which came into force this year, will present new challenges to tribunals with its more severe and flexible sanctioning regime and the increased breadth of anti-doping rule violations contained within it."

Charles Flint succeeds Peter Leaver QC who stands down on 1st April, having served the maximum two terms in post.

The National Anti-Doping Panel (NADP) is the United Kingdom's independent tribunal responsible for adjudicating anti-doping disputes in sport. It is operated by Sport Resolutions in accordance with its own procedural rules and is entirely independent of UK Anti-Doping, who are responsible for investigating, charging and prosecuting cases before the NADP. The NADP is established by the United Kingdom's Anti-Doping Policy and is funded by the UK government's Department for Culture Media and Sport.
