Chinese player provisionally suspended for doping violation

9 September 2016 - The Chairman of the AFC Disciplinary Committee has today provisionally suspended Jin Jingdao of Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng following the doping control conducted at the AFC Champions League 2016 quarter-final first leg.

Jin tested positive for clenbuterol before the match against FC Seoul on August 23, 2016. Clenbuterol is a banned substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency 2016 Prohibited List.

The provisional suspension was issued by the Chairman Committee in accordance with Article 34 of the AFC Anti-Doping Regulations.

Jin is now banned from taking part in any football-related activity for 60 days. This period can be further extended by 30 days. Jin has a right to request testing of his “B” sample in accordance with the AFC Anti-Doping Regulations. Following the completion of the investigation, the matter will be decided by the AFC Disciplinary Committee.

The Chinese Football Association and Shandong Luneng have been notified of this decision.
