Decision of CAF Disciplinary Board – 8 March 2020

The CAF Disciplinary Board met on Sunday, 8 March 2020 in Cairo, Egypt, regarding an incident of confrontation during the Total CAF Champions League 2019/20 quarter final second leg between TP Mazembe (DR Congo) v Raja Club Athletic (Morocco) held on Saturday (7 March 2020) in Lubumbashi.

Facts of the case

Prior to the start of the match, there was a confrontation between some players of Raja and supporters of TP Mazembe close to the tunnel.

Decision

After watching a video of the incident, the CAF Disciplinary Board has decided as follows;

• To further investigate the matter at hand. Officials of Raja are required to send their report on the incident which took place during the match in question by 15 March 2020 at the latest. Furthermore, they are to appear before the Disciplinary Board at the next meeting for an official hearing.

• To suspend player #15 Iliass Haddad immediately and provisionally until he appears before the Disciplinary Board at the next meeting for an official hearing.
