George Davies partner Mark Hovell on standby for his Euro’s call-up

Sports lawyer Mark Hovell, who is the managing partner of leading Manchester law firm George Davies, has been appointed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport's Ad Hoc Division for the UEFA Euro 2012. This means that Mark will be on standby for any cases that come before the court during the tournament.

Mark commented "It is a privilege to be appointed to the Panel that will arbitrate on any legal matters that may arise during the Euro's. I am just disappointed that the appointment doesn't mean that I get to attend the tournament!"

Typical matters that could come before the court include issues regarding the eligibility of players or disputes regarding drugs tests.

Mark has been an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration for Sport since 2002. During that time he has arbitrated on some of the leading sports cases and has previously been appointed to the Ad Hoc Division for the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games.
