WADA appoints Sébastien Gillot as Director, European Regional Office

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sébastien Gillot as Director, European Regional Office and International Federation Relations. Mr. Gillot will assume the role, in Lausanne, Switzerland on 13 August 2018.
Mr. Gillot is currently Head of Communications for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), a role he has held since 2014. Prior to the UCI, he held numerous communications/stakeholder engagement roles in the sports industry; most notably, from 2011 – 2014 as Director of Public Relations and Communications for the International Boxing Association (AIBA); in 2011 as Manager of Communications for the Annecy 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Bid Committee; in 2011 as Editor-in-Chief at the Global Sports Forum Barcelona 2011 with Havas Sports & Entertainment; from 2003 – 2011 as Lead Editor of FIFA.com with the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA); and from 2001 – 2003 as Communications Coordinator for the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club.
In his new role, Mr. Gillot will reinforce WADA’s mission by ensuring that the Agency’s objectives are successfully met; in particular, by leading the Agency’s support to IFs, as well as other Anti-Doping Organizations and stakeholders in Europe, in their development of effective anti-doping programs that are compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code.
Mr. Gillot will replace Benjamin Cohen, who will be leaving WADA in the coming weeks to become the first Director General of the new International Testing Agency (ITA).
Mr. Gillot holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the ICS Bégué (Paris); and, a Masters in Communications and Journalism from the Institut Supérieur des Médias de Paris.

L’AMA nomme Sébastien Gillot au poste de directeur, Bureau régional européen et relations avec les fédérations internationales
L’Agence mondiale antidopage (AMA) a le plaisir d’annoncer la nomination de Sébastien Gillot à titre de directeur, Bureau régional européen et relations avec les fédérations internationales. M. Gillot exercera ses fonctions à Lausanne, en Suisse, à compter du 13 août 2018.
M. Gillot est actuellement chef de la communication de l’Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), poste qu’il occupe depuis 2014. Avant l’UCI, il a été titulaire de diverses fonctions en communication et engagement des partenaires dans le secteur sportif. Il a été, notamment, directeur des Relations publiques et de la communication de la Fédération Internationale de Boxe (AIBA) de 2011 à 2014. En 2011, il a été responsable de la communication du Comité de candidature Annecy 2018 pour les Jeux olympiques et paralympiques d’hiver. Toujours en 2011, il a été rédacteur en chef au Global Sports Forum Barcelona 2011 pour Havas Sports & Entertainment. De 2003 à 2011, il a été rédacteur principal de FIFA.com à la Fédération Internationale de Football (FIFA). Enfin, de 2001 à 2003, il a été coordonnateur de la communication du club de football du Paris Saint-Germain.
Dans le cadre de ses nouvelles fonctions, M. Gillot renforcera la mission de l’AMA en s’assurant que les objectifs de l’Agence sont atteints, notamment, en dirigeant les activités de soutien aux fédérations internationales, ainsi qu’aux autres organisations antidopage et partenaires en Europe, dans leur développement de programmes antidopage efficaces et conformes au Code mondial antidopage.
M. Gillot remplacera Benjamin Cohen, qui quittera l’AMA au cours des prochaines semaines pour devenir le premier directeur général de la nouvelle Agence internationale de contrôles (ACI).
M. Gillot est titulaire d’un Bachelor en comptabilité de l’ICS Bégué (Paris) et d’un Master en communication et journalisme de l’Institut Supérieur des Médias de Paris.
