Women in Soccer, a project promoted by CONMEBOL and UEFA

Conmebol
  • This project is developed within the framework of exchange and cooperation between CONMEBOL and UEFA, with the aim of including more women in football, on and off the pitch.

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and the Union of European Football Federations (UEFA), through their UEFA ASSIST development program, continued the implementation of the "Women in Leadership Positions" Course, this time in conjunction with the Chilean Football Federation and the National Association of Professional Football.

In the first phase of the program, which began virtually in March, an analysis, investigation and diagnosis of the situation of women's football in Chile was carried out through interviews and surveys with key players in women's football.

From June 27 to 30, the second phase was carried out, with a face-to-face seminar, in which various people from women's football and the federation met for four days of discussion and exchange of knowledge.

From now on, a 6-month mentoring period begins, in collaboration with the federation, CONMEBOL and UEFA ASSIST, where goals and objectives are established to be implemented during that period.

Fabimar Franchi, Manager of Women's Soccer Development and Sustainability, and Mei Nagaoka, Head of Women's Soccer, were part of CONMEBOL.

This joint training between FFCH, CONMEBOL and UEFA is part of the commitment to exploit the potential of women in all spheres of football, whose contributions can contribute to an increasingly better women's football.
